At least 717 people taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage are now known
to have died in a stampede near the Islamic holy city of Mecca,
officials in Saudi Arabia say.
BBC Hausa Service correspondent, Tchima Illa Issoufou, who was on the
pilgrimage and was caught up in the crush, says her aunt died in the
incident and some members of her group are missing.
Pilgrims converge on Mina to throw stones at pillars representing the devil.
